AP Report: Antisemitic incidents on the rise in California

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — More than 500 antisemitic acts targeting Jewish people, including assault, vandalism and harassment, were committed in California last year, an increase of more than 40% from 2021, underscoring a proliferation of hate crimes and extremism in the state, according to a report released Tuesday by the Anti-Defamation League. Attending Interfaith Meeting with Mayor Bass

Senior Associate Regional Director Matthew Friedman representated ADL at an Interfaith leaders’ meeting on Tuesday, May 2, near City Hall.  The meeting was organized by the Los Angeles City Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department, and included representatives from many faith communities from throughout LA.  Mayor Karen Bass also attended part of the meeting, which focused mostly on addressing homelessness.

ADL California takes leading role at JPAC’s 2024 Capitol Summit in Sacramento

Over 40 ADL volunteer leaders and staff members were a part of the approximately 500 participants in this year’s Jewish Public Affairs Committee (JPAC) Capitol Summit in Sacramento on May 14-15, 2024. This was the largest Capitol Summit for JPAC ever, and ADL’s contingent was one of the most sizable groups. Over two days, JPAC attendees networked with other Jewish
