ADL Los Angeles Commemorates One Year after the Pittsburgh Shooting

  • October 28, 2019

On Friday morning, October 25, ADL Los Angeles joined community leaders and local elected officials to formally commemorate one year since the horrific attack at the Tree of Life building in Pittsburgh, which resulted in the deaths of eleven people.  ADL, along with AJC and the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, were joined by City Councilmembers Bob Blumenfield and Paul Koretz, along with City Controller Ron Galperin for a short press conference which preceded the introduction of a resolution commemorating the October 27, 2018 attack and the recitation of the Mourners’ Kaddish in a City Council meeting that morning.

ADL Los Angeles Regional Director Amanda Susskind made remarks at both the press conference and the City Council meeting on behalf of ADL and the Jewish community.  ADL and our partners were also joined by representatives of the Sikh, Muslim, Christian, African-American and LGBTQ communities.  As part of ADL’s national commemoration efforts, ADL also publicized the 11 Actions for 11 Lives initiative.  For more information, please contact us.
