As part of the 2015 Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival, ADL was a community sponsor of screenings of the recent German film Auf Das Leben! (To Life!) on May 4 in Beverly Hills and May 5 in Encino. ADL Associate Regional Director Matthew Friedman and Holocaust Education Institute Advisory Committee Chair Ron Frydman each welcomed the audience on successive evenings and spoke about ADL’s work on Holocaust Education.
The film was adapted from the original story, “If Stones Could Cry” by Stephen Glantz (writer of the acclaimed film Wunderkinder). The screening was presented in cooperation with the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, with Consul General Dr. Berndt Fischer providing remarks at the Beverly Hills screening.
