ADL trained high school seniors at Milken Community Schools on responding to anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias in its Words to Action program on February 25 and 27. Senior Associate Regional Directors Matthew Friedman and Natan Pakman facilitated a discussion with the students about the different manifestations of anti-Semitism they may face on college campuses, including in the context of anti-Israel activism and debates over the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Evaluations indicated that participants came away with tools for dealing with these complex issues. One participant said, “I’ve learned how to react to scenarios on campus and how to respectfully advocate for myself.” Another said, “I will use my ability to educate and help others look at Judaism through a less hateful lens.”
