Adina Holzman, ADL Assistant Director of the Research Center, visited the Pacific Southwest Region on February 18 and 19 to discuss current trends on college campuses with various audiences.

She and ADL Associate Regional Director Ariella Schusterman co-presented Anti-Semitism and Anti-Israel Activity on College Campuses to current Glass Leadership Institute participants on February 18.  The presentation explored definitions of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias, campus trends and resources offered by ADL.

Holzman led a lively discussion with ADL’s regional Legal Advisory Committee on February 19 about these issues, challenging committee members to provide feedback on when anti-Israel speech crosses the line into anti-Semitism.  The committee was shown a series of images taken from real-time events on campus and asked to advise on how ADL should respond in each instance.

During her visit, Holzman and Schusterman also met with the Israeli Consulate’s Academic Affairs Director Josh Hoyt together with representatives from the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles to discuss campus issues and explore potential areas for collaboration on programs that will provide resources for Jewish college students.
