Sherwood Prize: Law Enforcement Honored by ADL for Combating Hate and Bigotry

The Anti-Defamation League Helene & Joseph Sherwood Prize for Combating Hate luncheon and awards ceremony was held on March 13 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.  The nationally recognized prize goes to Southern California law enforcement personnel who go above and beyond the call of duty to fight hate. This year, the honorees included two individuals and two groups. 

Extremist Banner Removed from Freeway Overpass

After being alerted by a community member on February 5, ADL became aware that individuals associated with a white supremacist organization, Patriot Front, had again placed large, hand-made banner on the northbound side of the 405 freeway at Skirball exit, bearing the words “AMERICA FOR AMERICANS” and “THE REST MUST GO”.  Their racist website was also listed on the banner.
