Constitutional Experts Examine Significant Rulings from Supreme Court’s 2012-2013 Term

  • July 16, 2013

As part of ADL’s Centennial celebration and the National Constitution Center’s 10th anniversary programming, ADL’s 14th annual Supreme Court Review was presented to a live audience in Philadelphia and webcasted live around the country on July 2. Law school deans and legal scholars Erwin Chemerinsky (UCI) and Frederick Lawrence (Brandeis), and Lyle Denniston of SCOTUSblog examined significant civil rights rulings from the Supreme Court’s 2012 – 2013 term.

In Los Angeles, ADL held a viewing event at Loeb & Loeb LLP where attorneys from the firm and others watched as these legal experts scrutinized the Supreme Court’s most important cases, including those dealing with voting rights, same-sex marriage and affirmative action.  This year the panelists also analyzed how Supreme Court jurisprudence has evolved on the religion and free speech clauses of the First Amendment, issues central to ADL’s mission.
