ADL presented a program December 1 on, “Responding to Domestic Extremism,” co-sponsored with Jewish Federation of the Desert and held at their office in Rancho Mirage.  The room was nearly filled to capacity with over 90 community members in attendance.

FBI Supervisory Special Agents Sid Patel and Terry Alani gave presentations on the range of domestic terrorists and home-grown violent extremists.   ADL Associate Director Matthew Friedman then shared some of ADL’s investigative work relating to extremism and discussed our close working relationships with law enforcement.

Prior to the event, ADL and the Jewish Federation hosted a reception for Federation board members and ADL Desert Chai Benefactors (of at least $1,800 annually) and Second Century Campaign donors of at least $10,000 (in their estate plans).

The presentation was made possible through the generosity of the Helene and Melvin Berman Lecture Series, and provided the opportunity to highlight ADL’s work in the Desert and Inland Empire as well as continue to strengthen our partnership with the Jewish Federation of the Desert.  For more information about ADL’s work in the Desert, please contact LA@adl.org.
