Join us for the opening of a newly curated exhibit highlighting 10 of the 10,000 children (kinder) who traveled alone to England from Nazi-occupied territories on Kindertransports between December 1938 and September 1939. Most of the rescued children never saw their families again.
Included in the exhibit are psychologist, author and media personality Dr. Ruth Westheimer; Los Angeles resident Dave Lux, who was rescued by Sir Nicholas Winton; Lisa Jura, concert pianist and mother of Mona Golabek; and Charles Susskind, father of Regional Director Amanda Susskind (whose picture is featured in the Museum’s advertising materials shown on this page). The exhibit’s artifacts and vivid personal narratives weave together a story of tragedy, heartbreak, resilience, bravery and kindness.
