Glendale Synagogue hosts ADL presentation

  • March 27, 2017

Temple Sinai of Glendale recently hosted ADL Associate Regional Director Matthew Friedman, who spoke to members of the temple about current events, anti-Semitism, and strategies to respond to anti-Semitism.  Friedman addressed an audience of over 30 adults on Sunday morning, March 19, sharing the most up-to-date information on the bomb threats that Jewish institutions across the country had received, the desecration of Jewish cemeteries, and white supremacist flyering on various campuses and other sites.  He also spoke about strategies adults can use to speak to the children in their lives about hate incidents and violence, depending on their age.  Additionally, Friedman gave those in attendance ideas on how to best respond to any anti-Semitism, racism, and discriminatory language that they come across in their own lives.  Following the presentation, Friedman spoke directly with students in Temple Sinai’s seventh grade religious school class about anti-Semitism and how to respond to it.
