In November, 2013 nine delegates from ADL’s Pacific Southwest Region travelled to Washington D.C. to participate in ADL’s annual Grosfeld Family National Youth Leadership Mission. In partnership with the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, the mission framed lessons from Holocaust as a starting point to address modern-day issues of anti-Semitism, bigotry, and hate. Delegates participated in ADL’s A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE® Institute activities designed to provide an overview of the nature of bigotry and prejudice and to develop a supportive group environment both within and among the various delegations. Upon returning to Southern California, delegates began work on the projects designed to share what they learned with their schools and communities at home.
This video provides an overview of the Mission and features one of our region’s Delegates from 2013, Jordan Lustman, a student at Yeshiva University of Los Angeles High School.
