LOS ANGELES – Another Jewish synagogue has been hit with anti-Semitic hate speech in Los Angeles.

The Temple Ahavat Shalom was vandalized on Wednesday, according to Anti-Defamation League Los Angeles. The message left by the vandals says “six million $ was not enough.”

During the Holocaust from 1941 to 1945 six million Jewish people were killed amidst WWII. This is not the first time an L.A. temple has been vandalized this year.

In July, the Hebrew Discovery Center temple was targeted by a hate crime. White paint was splattered across the front of the synagogue, which the Rabi responded by placing a sign outside the temple that said “Stop hatred. You shall love your fellow as yourself.”

Several Pacifica High School students are under an investigation after a video surfaced of them engaging in the Sieg Heil salute while singing a Nazi anthem. The school district brought in a Rabbi to hold anti-bias programs on campus.

Earlier this month, San Pedro residents discovered swastikas painted on the sides of their homes. The swastika once represented Nazi Germany and still symbolizes hate today.

A new report by the California Attorney General’s Office shows that while the number of hate crimes has dropped slightly, those targeting Jewish people has actually gone up from 104 in 2017 to 126 in 2018.

Last year marked the third straight year with an increase in anti-Semitic harassment assaults, and vandalism in California. So far, 2019 is seeing much of the same.

The ADL is an organization that works to protect the Jewish community from anti-Semitism. The group investigates hate crimes and civil liberty violations.
